Ajabu House, Naivasha
About Ajabu House
Ajabu House on the northern shores of Lake Naivasha, only 2-2.5 hours from Nairobi by road, lives up to its name - Ajabu meaning Miracle. It was the family home for Wilfred and Mairo Hopcraft, initially built in the 1930s. It is now their grandchildren’s home - Julie and Tanya. It is located among 10 or more majestic fig trees (Ficus Wakefieldii) providing wonderful ambiance to the gardens, and is home to over 100 species of birds, monkeys, and much more. Beneath the trees is the deck - which is perfect for wining and dining whilst looking out across the lake, watching hippos and listening to fish eagles. Magical!
There are 7 ensuite rooms including the master room and bird room in the main house; two gorgeous rooms in the cottage, a family room with shared bathroom between the rooms, and a lovely twin. The preferable number for the house to cater too is up to 15 pax sharing. Self catering or catered is on offer.
