Chui House, Masai Mara: 5 Guests
If you’re looking for an amazing little retreat in the Mara for your next holiday, look no further than Chui House. This stunning guest house is located on the Naretoi wildlife estate at the northern tip of the greater Mara and is perfect for a family or group of up to 5 people. The central, open-plan living and kitchen area gives way to a lovely master bedroom on one side and a triple room on the other. The second bedroom has a double bed and a set of bunk beds. Both bedrooms are beautifully decorated and have ensuite bathrooms with showers. The verandah overlooks the plains in front of the house and is the main hangout area, ideal for watching Africa roll by.
The fenced, 1000 acre Naretoi estate offers walking, biking, and motorbiking opportunities (bring your own bikes). Your single conservation fee gives you immediate access to the Enonkishu, Olchorro, and Lemek Conservancies in the northern Mara area, perfect for getting into the amazing Maasai Mara from the comfort of your own ‘home’. We can arrange for some amazing local guides who take you out for game drives in the northern conservancies, bird walks, guided hill climbs, school visits, fishing for catfish and educational cultural activities (for an extra charge). Perfect, affordable, Chui is the one.
The glory of the Mara is legendary. The region is the crown jewel of the Kenyan tourism industry: savannahs, huge skies, and, when the migration comes thundering through, huge numbers of wildlife. Located at the northern edge of the greater Mara ecosystem, Naretoi estate and Enonkishu Conservancy are teeming with resident wildlife year-round. Giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, and gazelles are often just in front of the Chui House verandah, and you can hear the local lions and hyenas at night. Enonkishu boasts regular sightings of lions, cheetahs, and elephants, and occasional glimpses of Kenya’s rarest carnivore, the African wild dog. This area is the Mara’s hidden gem, and never crowded. You could stay in one of the many camps and lodges in the Mara or have your own, self-catered amazing home to stay in for your trip, giving you a private base to get to know this remarkable landscape. This is the value of a private home in the Mara, only with us.
