Ecoscapes House, Korongo Bay

Ecoscapes House is located on the far western shore of Lake Naivasha near Crater Lake on the edge of Korongo Bay. The house is set within a lovely garden, overlooking our private game sanctuary and swimming pool. The sanctuary is teaming with a wide variety of wildlife. The house is a short walk/drive away from the Korongo Bay where we have our own jetty. You can book boat rides with a local operator.

Downstairs there is an open plan cozy sitting room with a fireplace and a dining area overlooking the garden. The comfortable veranda overlooks the garden, swimming pool and game sanctuary. The kitchen is located at the back of the house. There is a stand alone guest loo and a spacious double bed room with ensuite bathroom also on the ground floor. Upstairs there are two large rooms, one with a double bed, the other with 2 twin beds. There is also a smaller room with 2 single beds. There is one bathroom upstairs.

Feel free to walk around the farm and see our small organic vegetable market garden. You can buy fresh vegetables from us during your stay. You can walk around the game sanctuary with our wildlife guide but please be aware of buffalo and hippos. We do not take any responsibility for injures by wildlife. Our staff will be available throughout your stay to help. We are only a phone call away, should you need to get hold of us. We have a 2 ladies working in the house who can do basic cooking and they live on the property. There is good security with day and night guards. Our guest information booklet has useful information to aid your stay.

Lake Naivasha, in the heart of the Great Rift Valley, is renowned for its spectacular bird life with over 350 different species. Being a fresh water lake it is ideal for a range of water sports from fishing to water skiing. Other attractions include climbing Mt. Longonot, Golfing at the Great Rift Valley Lodge, game viewing and rock climbing in Hell’s gate, viewing flamingoes on the nearby Oloidien and Crater Lakes, visiting show case flower farms and the geothermal plant at Ol Karia. You can take boat cruises around the lake bird and hippo watching from our jetty or walk amongst the game on our own private game sanctuary. Your days can be as action packed or as relaxing as you want them to be.

The lake has a surface area of 139 square kilometers and an average depth of 6 meters. It is stocked with black bass , tilapia and carp and there is a thriving fishing
industry around the lake. The lake is at the highest elevation of the Kenya Rift Valley at 1890 meters (6200 feet) so the days are warm and the nights are pleasantly chilly.
The Lake Naivasha Riparian Association received the Ramsar Wetland Conservation Award for its conservation efforts regarding the lake which is a renowned Ramsar

The house is approximately two and a half hours drive from Nairobi, 45 minutes from the Moi South Lake turn off or the Moi North Lake Road. Please be advised
that the last 6-8km of road, either way, after the tarmac ends is a dirt road which requires a car with good clearance as it's currently in bad condition. We have a private airstrip which guests can use. There is a shop and restaurant 8km away at Kongoni

Please note that the dirt road is currently in bad condition and you should use a car with good clearance. The house is let on a strictly self catering basis. Please bring your own drinking
water. We provide 2 housekeepers (who do basic cooking and cleaning). There is good security with day and night guards. The house staff will be available from 7am until 9pm. Please be considerate of their working hours.

Tipping guide: $5 (ksh 500)per person per staff member per night. We supply toilet paper, soap, dish washing and laundry detergent. We have a BBQ and can sell you charcoal. Smoking is not permitted in the house but you can smoke on the veranda.
