Kokare House, on the 420 Estate in the middle of the famous Diani is literally ten minutes from the Ukunda airstrip. Kokare has one double and one twin bedroom with shared bathroom and sleeps a maximum of 4 people. The house is wonderfully decorated with amazing coastal charm and enjoys year-round breeze from the Indian Ocean to cool the house. Rustic but beautifully finished, Kokare’s living room leads out to the veranda which opens out into rolling lawns and in turn leads down to your beachfront. Kokare comes with a chef and house help to look after you. The house does not have a pool but the Indian Ocean, in all its glory is right on your doorstep, so get the swimming gear (and kids sun cream) and head on down to the glorious blue.
Diani has grown in popularity in recent years, and it’s easy to see why. Diani hosts one of the most beautiful beaches on the Kenyan coast, with migrations of whale sharks coming through and unbelievable kitesurfing options off Galu Beach. Further off the coast is the opportunity for deep-sea fishing. There is a world-class golf course on the Diani strip as well as some fabulous deep-sea diving, all 10 minutes from the Ukunda Airstrip. Kwale County Government is pushing forward with amazing tourism development plans, so come down and see what the hype is about; you won’t be disappointed.
