TAWS House is gorgeous thatched home on 5 acres, 40 minutes from Nairobi CBD, in the heart of Maanzoni Wildlife Estate. Owned by a Kenya family and built by late Mr Walker, whose attention to detail and creativity reflects in the unique style and beautiful location surrounded by wildlife and open plains.

The front lawn frames a swimming pool, with a back drop of Lukenya to the left, The Aberdares, Mt Kenya and Ol Donyo Sabuk on a clear day. The verandah overlooks the pool and the view in the background. Breakfast and lunch in the good weather is lovely to have outside on the lawn and there is a BBQ area to the side of the pool. The Dining room opens out onto the verandah in front and then one end to an open plan sitting room with a lovely fireplace for the colder nights and a library come office overlooking the view.

There are 3 ensuite double bedrooms, two of which are in the main house, one of which can be changed to a twin room and is attached by a corridor to the Master bedroom, ideal for a family with small children. The other double room is a separate guest house next to the main house.

Other amenities in the area include a nice clay oven Pizzeria and a tree nursery at Nzuri House and for those of you looking for activities, The Mountain Climbing Club can be contacted regarding climbing Lukenya hill.

Wifi access is in the dining room and verandah, making it possible to work from home. There is a large, fully equipped kitchen including spices. On the 5 acres is a plant nursery where guests are welcome to take home a couple of plants from the garden, there are privately owned horses, ducks and chickens.

There is a cook/cleaner included and the Property Manager Omondi is onsite to help with any requirements. The house is ideal for a family, pets and those wanting to walk, cycle or run. (pets are not allowed on the furniture). For those of you who would prefer to relax by the pool or with a sundowner at the dam, there are options for everyone.
