Located on Lake Baringo is your own private Island on one of Kenya’s most picturesque freshwater lakes is the aptly name Island Camp. Fully kitted out with 7 bedrooms, sleeping up to 14 people, with a lush swimming pool and area to run around for the kids, Island Camp is the perfect family retreat. Island Camp comes with a full contingent of staff, including a sensational chef. There is also a guard on the mainland to look after your cars when you’re on the Island. Being on its own Island means you have access to loads of water sports also birding around the lake (at an extra cost) and you have your own private swimming pool.

As you step off the boat, head up the stair case, past the downstairs bar and dining room all the way up to the top swimming pool deck. Here is where you will spend most of the time, lounging on the sunbeds while the kids run around on the lawn. The amazing, tourism trained staff will look after your every whim and the chef will cook up a storm.

It’s worth noting that Island Camp is full of stairs so not wheel chair friendly and the elderly may struggle a little bit getting around. There is no Wi-Fi or air conditioning in the property and a generator runs in the morning and evening to charge u your gadgets and gizmos.

When you decide to head out around the lake and take in some of the 420 species of birds on Baringo, we can put on a boat for you (at an extra charge of Ksh. 1500 per person per 1.5 hour). But if you’re keen just to spend time with family in a unique, stunning location, then Island Camp is the one for you.
